But because I am human and contain multitudes, the excitement regarding furthering my academic career is offset by the exhaustion experienced at witnessing an ever-increasing amount of semantic gymnastics between thinkers when it comes to making sense of the futures of the human condition. While I understand its academic merit, it leaves me cold as I find the field oftentimes exclusionary despite the incredible work being done by various players to democratise it.

We're wired to recoil from uncertainty, to seek resolution before finding comfort, and yet change remains a constant force in our lives—akin to the unwavering certainty of death and taxes. This discomfort is the core juxtaposition of our existence, and I detest it. However, I have also found that within this discomfort lies an opportunity—to confront fear, examine its depths, and learn from it. It's not about evading the fear that accompanies uncertainty; it's about fathoming it.
